Our body needs iron to help transport oxygen throughout the body. The body’s iron store relies on adequate dietary intake and absorption to counter daily usage and blood loss. Low iron level will result in various symptoms, such as tiredness, mood changes and muscle fatigue. If you have low iron level, your doctor may recommend iron replacement therapy – oral iron supplements or iron infusion – to restore the iron level.

Iron Infusion

Whitehorse Medical Centre also offers intravenous iron infusion if recommended by your doctor.

Discuss with your doctor if you are concerned about your iron level, you would like more information about the benefits and side effects of intravenous iron infusion or to find out if an iron infusion is right for you.

New Patient Referral

If you are a new patient to our centre, please contact us to arrange an iron infusion with one of our doctors. You will need to bring your current doctor’s referral letter and a copy of the iron and blood test results to the appointment.
