Why weight challenge?
If you have been struggling with your weight for some time, it might be time to have a chat with your doctor about the ways we can help.
It is very common to experience difficulty achieving weight change on your own as our bodies have in-built mechanisms which can counteract the change we try to implement. Challenging our weight requires a lot of hard work and motivation, but can be incredibly rewarding!
About the Weight Challenge Program
Whitehorse Medical Centre offers a 12-week weight challenge program. It takes 3 simple steps:
- Booking an initial long (30 minute) appointment
- Discussing tailored weight loss strategies
- Ongoing review and support with our nurses and doctors
You will need:
- Motivation and commitment
- Scales and tape measure
- “My Fitness Pal” app downloaded to your smart device – tracking of weight, food, exercise
Over the course of 12 weeks, expect to have weekly appointments with your doctor or nurse, allowing 30 minutes for each appointment.
Dr Julie Wang believes improving our weight helps to improve every aspect of our physical & mental health. She likes to challenge her patients by supporting them to establish regular, daily lifestyle routines for long term gains.
Dr Kolin Lu believes that creating healthy eating, exercise and lifestyle routines and habits, results in longer term sustained healthy weight control and improves both physical and mental wellbeing.
